Maafa - The Docklands Museum
Read MoreYear 6's project this term has been 'Maafa' - a mature project looking at the development of the transatlantic slave trade; Britain's involvement in the sugar and slave trade; human consequences of this trading and the abolition of the slave trade. The children have approached it with sensitivity and great thought. Last week they had the amazing opportunity to visit The Docklands Museum in London to bring together all their learning. They even got to recap previous learning from the academic year in the WWII section, including 'squashing everyone in the air raid shelter! What an amazing day and museum.
