Religious Education is truly an exploration of who people are and how they live their lives. People’s beliefs and religions shape them and their experiences and guide their every decision. By learning about this, children can gain a rich understanding of others, develop empathy and learn how to be tolerant and respectful of everyone. We practise deeper thinking skills so we learn not only about religions but understand what we can learn from religions, without any judgement or prejudice, regardless of our own beliefs. RE seeks to give children an insight into other people’s worlds, where they can explore with curiosity, ask questions and learn about what makes us all similar yet also uniquely special.
